Tafea Islands

Welkum to the breathtaking and unique Tafea Province, the countries most Southern group of islands within the Vanuatu archipelago.  Tafea consists of 5 islands;  Tanna, Futuna, Erromango, Aneityum and Aniwa.

The uniqueness of Tafea is something that needs to be seen, touched and felt to understand the full impact of what this place has on offer is astounding.  From sublime white coral to dramatic black sand volcanic beaches contrasted against the deep blue sea leading into mountainous terrain covered in jungles, waterfalls and custom cultural villages that are still alive today.  Tafea consists of a vast geographical contrast and a rich cultural diversity only seen in these unique islands.

Be prepared to step back in time, unwind, have an adventure and be met by friendly smiles and open people.  Finding your way around Tafea can be an adventure in itself and once you adjust to the way of life and laid back nature of the islands you will not be dissapointed! There is so much to discover and explore and diverse experiences to enrichen your stay, make sure you have some time set aside for your visit here to not miss out on all the options!

One of the most famous attractions in Tafea Province is the Mt Yasur Volcano on Tanna Island. The Southern Hemispheres most accessible volcano isn't one of the most visited tourist destinations in Vanuatu for no reason! You will be blown away by the magnitude and power that the volcano emits and this is only the beginning of what can be experienced in this southern archipelago.

Often called the ‘timeless islands’, Vanuatu is a land that is never raced, never hurried – Tafea is a gentle, peaceful place where the people and visitors alike can simply take the time to enjoy natures’ blessed land in it's rawness.  Tafea is still very untouched and wild in some places but the main island of Tanna has all the services needed for visitors and flights departing daily to and from Port Vila.
